We support a more diverse mining industry

Despite increased pressure on the mining sector to maximise diversity, females still only make up 17% of our workforce with even fewer being in executive positions.  At Mining Indaba, we're supporting the move to a more diverse future in several ways. This year, we set our heights high with 30% of our speaker line-up was female, an 8% increase from last year. By increasing the diversity of our speakers we're helping to elevate female leaders within the industry so that others can look to them as role models.

  • History was made with an all-femal panel discussion on the Main Stage
  • Partnered with three Women in Mining associations who provided advice and helped connect us to the women at the top
