Mining Indaba - Abdullah bin in Mufter Al-Shamrani

Eng. Abdullah Al-Shamrani joined SABIC more than thirty three years ago as a chemical engineer. He started his career in SABIC in the field of Manufacturing sites and advanced in diverse leadership positions until he took up his current position as the CEO of the Saudi Geological Survey in Dec 2020.

Beforehand, Mr. Al-Shamrani was assigned to different SABIC Affiliates where he served as President of Al-Jubail United Petrochemical Company (United) and Al-Jubail fertilizers Company (AlBayroni) with 3 years term each. He also served as Operation General Manager of Saudi Arabian Chemical Fertilizer company (SAFCO) & National Chemical Fertilizers Company (Ibn AlBaytar) for 4 years. He was a broad member of National Chemical Fertilizers Company (IBN BAYTAR) and Saudi Arabian Mining Company, (Maaden Phosphate).
Mr. Al-Shamrani led several marketing committees within SABIC for different Petrochemical Products.

He successfully led the merger of the two major SABIC for different Petrochemical companies (PETROKEMYA and SADAF) in year 2019 which led to the creation of new identity for PETROKEA which is considered the largest Petrochemical complex in the world.

He also tasked to lead the SABIC Conferences locally and globally.

He was also one of the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization based in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
