SVP Mining Kal Tire

Dan Allan is the Senior Vice President of Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group, an international leader in mining tyre management and supply, servicing more than 150+ mines sites across five continents.

Dan has led a strategic focus of solving customers’ most pressing mining tyre challenges—from ESG and safety to tyre life and productivity. In recent years, that’s led to the company introducing several bold solutions for every stage of tyre life, including successfully opening a thermal conversion mining tyre recycling facility in Chile in 2021. The only one of its kind currently operating that supports a circular economy.

Other recent ESG-focused solutions introduced include a proprietary tire management system, TOMS – bringing seamless interoperability and proactive management of mining tires that improves fleet use and safety, specialized tooling that reduces risk and increases efficiency, and a reporting tool that provides third-party verified data for carbon emission savings when using some of Kal Tire’s sustainable solutions.

Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group is a division of Kal Tire, of which Dan is a Partner of. Founded in 1953 in British Columbia, Canada, it is a family-owned private company servicing retail and commercial customers through more than 250 stores across Canada. Before joining Kal Tire in 2013 and relocating to British Columbia, Dan had a long career with a major equipment and service supplier in the mining industry and lived on three continents. He grew up in Ontario, Canada, and holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Laurentian University.
