Nneoma Veronica Nwogu

Senior Counsel and Energy & Extractives Legal Advisor World Bank

Nneoma Veronica Nwogu is a senior counsel at the World Bank. She provides legal representation on corporate matters related to Development Finance including legal advisory services on specified funds as well as operational matters related to project financing in client countries. She is the legal advisor to the World Bank’s Extractives and Energy Global Practice and co-leads the Bank’s Legal Vice Presidency Working Group on Technology and Innovation. Ms. Nwogu received her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College, an MPhil from Oxford University and juris doctor from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is an adjunct professor at the Washington College of Law, American University.

The World Bank and African Legal Support Facility welcome you to the African Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA) Toolkit Launch. AMLA has developed two knowledge products (“Toolkits”) focused on proposing strategies that enable practical implementation of the Guiding Template’s provisions on (i) state equity participation and (ii) local development and community engagement. These Toolkits will provide publicly accessible information and analysis of various legal approaches to address these two important areas in inclusive mineral development. As part of the launch, AMLA will host a panel discussion to address experiences in and evolving approaches to state equity participation.
