Samir Whitaker is a corporate sustainability professional with over twelve years of global experience in biodiversity and ecosystem management and sustainable sourcing in the private and NGO sectors, developing and delivering projects and partnerships across a range of landscapes. Samir has significant experience screening, managing and integrating biodiversity and social risk through projects and supply chains, designing and executing environmental baseline studies, and developing tailored tools, guidance and policy. He is committed to driving business change and achieving long-term sustainability by making conservation core business.
In 2020, Samir has co-authored the report: ‘Making Forest-Smart Mining a Reality’ with Estelle Levin-Nally of Levin Sources, and Blanca Racionero-Gomez.
Samir has an MSc in Environmental Chemistry and an MPhil in Conservation Leadership, focusing primarily on biodiversity offsets in the mining sector.
