Mark has been the chief executive of Randgold Resources since its incorporation in 1995. Randgold was founded on his pioneering exploration work in West Africa and he has subsequently led the company’s growth through the discovery and development of world class assets into a major international gold mining business. 

Mark has played a pivotal part in promoting the emergence of a sustainable mining industry in Africa. He has proven track record of growing businesses and delivering considerable shareholder value. A geologist with a PhD from Natal University, South Africa, Mark has held board positions at a number of global mining companies.
