Daniele La Porta

Global Head of Sustainability and ESG Gerald Group

Daniele La Porta, Global Head of ESG and Sustainability joined Gerald Group in February 2022 to lead  ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Sustainability strategies on a global basis. Daniele has spent 18 years at World Bank in Brazil and Washington DC as a Senior Mining Specialist within their Energy and Extractives Global Practice. She founded and led the Climate-Smart Mining Initiative, and has hands on experience working in developing nations such as Sierra Leone where she first crossed paths with Gerald Group in the context of the Group’s iron ore subsidiary Marampa Mines Limited. Daniele holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University de Brasilia and an MBA in Environmental Management from Faculdade Candido Mendes, Brazil, and is fluent in four languages. She has conducted internationally recognised research focused on sustainability throughout the critical metals supply chain.
