Jonathan Cordero

Head of Corporate Development Eurasian Resources Group (ERG)

Jonathan D. Cordero is currently Head of Corporate Development at Eurasian Resources Group responsible for Global Ventures Development, Strategy and M&A in the international business. He served as a board member in various companies, including TSX listed Africo Resources. Before his assignment at ERG, Mr Cordero was a Manager with Bryanston Resources in Zug, Switzerland, a specialised advisory and investment boutique in the commodities space. He holds a Master of Science in Management from HHL- Leipzig Graduate School of Management. His areas of expertise include M&A, Operational Improvements & Turnaround, Valuation & Business Modelling, Due Diligence.

Resource nationalism is growing in popularity with various African governments across the continent. Countries must derive greater economic benefit from their mineral wealth and in addition to greater local ownership, also requires a reduction in exports of raw materials and encouragement of local beneficiation. Does this translate to greater regional co-operation and developmental goals amongst African states?
