Heidi Sternberg

Sector Specialist: Mining, Beneficiation and Energy PIC

Heidi has spent more than 20 years in the mining industry in one form or the other. She has worked in the ultra-deep gold mines in South Africa, evaluated mining projects across the globe and was a top rated mining equity analyst by the Financial Mail.

During this time, she has gained deep investment experience while being exposed to multiple facets of the mining and investment arena, public and private.

She is passionate about the potential the mining industry has to empower local South Africans, uplift communities and positively impact the South African economy as a whole, via responsible investing practices, social upliftment and good governance.

She is currently a Sector Specialist: Mining in the Research and Innovation division at the PIC.

Mining Indaba will host the finals of the famous Investment Battlefield where junior miners pitch their projects to a panel of investors, analysts and industry experts to be crowned best in class project in each category of exploration and development. Heats will commence at 121 Mining Investment on Tuesday 7 February.
