Renata Lawton-Misra

Senior Manager, Transition Advisory The Carbon Trust

Renata is a climate change and carbon specialist at the Carbon Trust, providing technical oversight and input, business development, and managing complex projects for private sector clients. She manages innovative projects supporting corporates with defining low carbon ambition, developing decarbonisation strategies, plans and targets to deliver their transition plans, enhancing their carbon reporting practices, and providing green finance assurance.

Renata is the project manager for IFC's Net Zero Roadmap for Mining, as well as several other corporate engagements, delivering on the forefront of value chain engagement and Scope 3 strategy development.

Prior to joining the Carbon Trust, Renata worked as a corporate sustainability consultant at Deloitte & Touche, where she was the team lead for Deloitte South Africa’s Sustainability Advisory portfolio, focusing on responsible sourcing and conflict mineral advisory and assurance, asset retirement obligation reviews, and sustainability assurance.

Renata holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Wits Business School.
