Thabang in a number 1 Financial Mail rated commodities and mining analyst. She joined SBG Securities in November 2014. She transitioned from the buy-side to the sell-side by starting out was a junior commodities strategist for two years. She then started covering the South African diversified miners collectively known as industrial metals companies. Before joining SBG Securities, Thabang spent three years as assistant portfolio manager at the Public Investment Corporation. Before that, she worked as an intern in Daimler’s pricing and controlling department at the head office in Stuttgart, Germany. Thabang completed her Business Science and Master of Commerce degrees at the University of Cape Town majoring in Economics and she completed her CFA in 2015. Thabang currently covers hard commodities and industrial metals.
