Chief Operating Officer Kumba Iron Ore

Vijay was appointed as the COO for Kumba Iron Ore on 01 April 2020. He has over 25 years of global experience with a proven track record of accomplishments in setting up and managing multiple operations/ projects across the globe in South Africa, Canada, Australia, Northern Africa. Vijay joins Kumba from Anglo American’s Coal division (Greenside Colliery) where he was the General Manager for two years. His previous roles include being Head of Iron Ore with Vedanta Ltd and Head of Global Minerals Group for Tata Steel.

Vijay holds an MBA XLRI, Jamshedpur-India, AMP (Advanced Management Programme) IESE, Barcelona-Spain and B.Tech (Mining Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology- India.
