Open call for video submissions

Speak. Be heard at Africa’s largest mining event.

A short video from you about your community and mining could bring you to Mining Indaba 2027 in Cape Town, where you can share your perspective with the people shaping the future of the industry.

10 winners will receive full support to attend Mining Indaba 2027.

What this is

Your perspective, where it matters.

As part of Community Voices, we are once again inviting people who live in or work closely with mining affected communities across Africa to share their perspectives and help shape the conversation at Africa’s largest mining event.

Whether you are a community leader, Indigenous representative, youth or women’s representative, civil society representative, activist or artisanal miner, this is an opportunity to bring your experiences, priorities and ideas directly into the industry conversation.

Building on the first two years of the programme, 10 people will be selected and fully supported to attend Mining Indaba 2027 in person.

What to talk about

The theme of Mining Indaba 2027 is Stronger Together: Partnerships in Practice.

We want to hear directly from you about the issues, opportunities and challenges you believe Mining Indaba should be discussing. Draw on your own experience and tell us what needs to change, where you see opportunity and what is possible when communities and industry work together.

In your video, answer:

“Mining Indaba 2027 is about partnerships in practice. From where you stand, what issues, opportunities and challenges do you most want on the agenda? What needs to change, and what is possible when communities and industry work together?”

What you could win

10 winners, fully supported to attend Mining Indaba 2027.

Eligible videos may also be featured during and around Mining Indaba 2027 across digital and onsite channels.

Tips for filming your video

You do not need professional equipment or previous filming experience.

Only include other people in your video if they have agreed to be filmed.
