Fuelex SA

FUELEX SA is a Senegalese company established in January 2024 and holding licenses for the import and distribution of petroleum products.

The company officially began its distribution operations in December 2024.

Under its current business model, the company focuses on three business segments:

The B2B distribution of heavy fuel oil (HFO 380) and light fuel oil (Fuel 180) to industrial customers and resellers operating both within Senegal and across export markets in the wider sub-region;
The sale of diesel fuel across the B2B and Marine/Bunkering segments; and
The export of white products (gasoline and diesel) as well as Fuel 180/380 to neighbouring countries within the sub-region.

This strategic positioning was strengthened through the acquisition of the former B2B customer portfolio of TotalEnergies Marketing Sénégal, following the TotalEnergies Group’s decision to cease the marketing of these products effective 31 December 2024.

FUELEX SA is currently preparing for the implementation and expansion of its products and activities into other downstream petroleum sectors, including industrial and automotive lubricants, service station networks, and aviation.

For its supply requirements, FUELEX SA relies on local suppliers, notably the Société Africaine de Raffinage (SAR) and other licensed marketers, as well as international suppliers through its import licence.

From a logistics perspective, FUELEX SA works with local service providers that operate infrastructure compliant with industry standards for both storage (including SENSTOCK) and the transportation and delivery of petroleum products (through leading local transport operators).

FUELEX SA est une société de droit sénégalais, créée en janvier 2024 et titulaire de licences d’importation et de distribution de produits pétroliers.   La société a officiellement démarré ses activités de distribution en décembre 2024.   Dans son modèle économique actuel, l’entreprise se concentre sur 03 business segments : la distribution BtoB de Fuel lourd (HFO 380) et de Fuel léger (180) à des industriels ou des revendeurs opérant tant sur le territoire national qu’à l’export dans la sous-région ; la vente de gasoil dans les segments BtoB, Marine/Bunkering ; et l’Export de produits blancs (Super et Gasoil) et de FUEL 180/380 vers la sous-région.   Ce positionnement stratégique s’est concrétisé par la reprise du portefeuille des anciens clients BtoB de TotalEnergies Marketing Sénégal, à la suite de la décision du Groupe TotalEnergies d’arrêter la commercialisation de ces produits à compter du 31 décembre 2024.   À date, FUELEX SA prépare l’implémentation prochaine et le développement de ses produits et activités dans d'autres segments de l’aval pétrolier, notamment les lubrifiants industriels et automobiles, le réseau de stations-service et l’aviation...   Pour ses approvisionnements, FUELEX SA s’appuie sur des fournisseurs locaux, notamment la Société Africaine de Raffinage (SAR) ou d’autres marketers agréés, ainsi que sur des fournisseurs étrangers grâce à sa licence d’importation.   En matière logistique, FUELEX SA s’appuie sur des prestataires locaux disposant d'infrastructures conformes aux normes du secteur pour le stockage (SENSTOCK entre autres) et la livraison de produits pétroliers (principaux transporteurs de la place).
