We have had a presence in in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) since 2007. We manage two industrial copper and cobalt operations, Kamoto Copper Company SA (KCC) – a partnership with Gécamines and DRC government – and Mutanda Mining SARL (MUMI) a partnership with DRC government – both located in the Lualaba province of the DRC. We maintain and foster a constructive and open dialogue with our host communities, as well as with the regional and national government.
To date, we have invested over USD 8 billion in MUMI and KCC’s development. At the end of 2023, our operations employed more than 17 000 people ( Employee and contractors). 95% of our employees come from local communities.
