The African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) was established in 2008 to provide legal and technical capacity to African governments in negotiating and managing complex commercial and investment transactions. The ALSF support to governments in the mining sector includes negotiations and contracts management, dispute resolution, and capacity building – including training, toolkits, and knowledge products such as the African Mining legislation Atlas and Guiding Template.
To date ALSF supported more than 292 projects across 45 African countries with more than 12,500 African lawyers and public officials trained with more than USD 103 millions disbursed.
