What is the purpose of Mining Indaba?

Mining Indaba is dedicated to the successful capitalisation and development of mining interests in Africa. Succeeding for over 30 years, Mining Indaba has a unique and widening perspective of the African mining industry, bringing together major and mid-tier mining companies, juniors, explorers, financiers, investors, equipment and service providers, governments, and many more sectors within the industry.

When and where does Mining Indaba take place?

Mining Indaba takes place on the 5-8 February 2024 at Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa. For more information, please visit event information.

Venue details, parking and how to get there

Mining Indaba is being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC 1) located on Convention Square, 1 Lower Long Street, 8001 Cape Town. 

Car parking is available in CTICC car parks P1 and P5 for a daily fee.  Taxis and Ubers can stop at the dedicated drop zone on Walter Sisulu Avenue.

What services are available at the venue?

Cloakroom – A cloakroom is available on the ground floor.  Please note luggage is not allowed at the event and should be left with your hotel concierge.  The organisers will not be held responsible for any items left in the cloakroom and you do so at your own risk.

Internet – Free Wi-Fi will be available for all delegates.  Log in instructions will be available on arrival.

ATMs – These are located on the ground floor of the CTICC.

Prayer Room – A designated prayer room is available within CTICC 2

How can I book a transfer from the airport?

I require an invitation letter to assist with my visa application. How do I Apply?

As a Mining Indaba delegate, we are happy to support you in your VISA process by issuing a VISA invitation letter for you. Please contact our team at [email protected].

How can I book accommodation near the event venue?

Iccommodate is Mining Indaba’s official and only accommodation partner. They have secured discounted rooms at a number of hotels surrounding the event venue.  Use their live booking system or email them at [email protected] to take advantage of their rates.

Can I get a refund if I need to cancel my registration?

Please email [email protected] for detailed information about our cancellation and refund policy.

What are the different pass types and what do they include?

We offer various pass types with different access levels. Details about each pass type and their inclusions can be found on our website's Registration page.

Will there be translation services for non-English speakers?

Yes we will be offering a range of translation services for non-English speakers at Mining Indaba

What catering is offered at the event and I have a dietary requirement?

Tea, coffee and water will available all day at the designated refreshment points within the main gallery and exhibition floor.  Lunch will be provided for all delegates in the Lunch Hall on Level 1 between 12:00 – 14:00 Monday to Thursday. Vegetarian and vegans will be catered for.  If you have any specific dietary requirements, please email us via [email protected].

When will I receive my badge?

Barcodes will be issued one week before the event if the pass has been fully paid.  At registration, present the barcode to collect your badge.  Your badge provides access to the event or any permitted networking functions.  Without your badge, entry will be refused.Changes or substitutions please email [email protected]

Will I be safe at the event?

Your delegate badge permits access to the event and any approved networking functions.  No badge means no entry.  All delegates will pass through airport style security on arrival at CTICC.  This is also a firearm free event.  Security concerns should be reported to the Venue Operations Centre located in room 2.35. 

Crime, especially petty theft, can be prevalent in Cape Town.  Delegates are encouraged to remain vigilant at all times and should get taxi’s across the city especially at night.  South African Police can be contacted in an emergency on 10111.
