Alhassane Barry is a Partner in Baker Botts' Global Projects practice, splitting his time between London and Dubai, and the Global Head of Mining and Metals (Non-U.S.). He specialises in the development and financing of large-scale projects across the energy, mining and metals, oil and gas and natural resources sectors. Drawing on extensive experience across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, he provides strategic advice to a broad spectrum of clients, including sponsors and developers as well as lenders (including Export credit agencies, development finance institutions and commercial banks), equity investors and public sector entities.

Alhassane was the lead counsel on all legal aspects of the $24billion world class Simandou Project in Guinea, including on the development of 4 iron ore blocks, a 700 km multi users railway, and 20 MTPA multi functions ports.

Alhassane is recognized by leading legal directories, including Chambers and Partners, and ranked in the Africa Business Plus Top 100 Most Influential Lawyers. He is multilingual, fluent in French, English, Fulani, Sussu, and Mandingo. He is admitted to bars in New York and Paris and is a Registered Foreign lawyer with the SRA in England and Wales.
