Agostino Casillo brings over 15 years of international experience in industrial projects spanning natural resources, energy and chemicals. Throughout his career, he has operated in diverse markets and geographies for large-scale projects development, from initial feasibility studies to final investment decision. His expertise encompasses technology investments, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic partnerships where he has a proven track record of successfully originating and executing both organic and inorganic business growth opportunities. Agostino has held multiple leadership positions at Technip Energies Group, market global leader in engineering and technology. He later joined the Business Development team at Enel Green Power, renewable energy producer. Currently, he serves as the Head of Natural Resources Competence Center at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the Italian National Promotion Institution. As part of his role, Agostino focuses on critical raw materials, where he advises on strategies and projects aimed at developing resilient and sustainable mineral supply chains to support the energy and digital transition. Agostino holds a degree in chemical engineering and a MBA.

Italy–Africa: Partnership opportunities in critical minerals
The event “Italy–Africa: Partnership Opportunities in Critical Minerals”, will be held with the presence of Vice Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy Valentino Valentini and will deepen the cooperation between Italy and Africa on critical raw materials, with a specific focus on supply‑security requirements and the Italian Government Mattei Plan, the strategic initiative for Africa aimed at fostering equal partnerships grounded in sustainable development. This event addresses the innovative Italian mineral strategy within the European CRM Act, focused on the enhancement of extraction and processing capacities in partner countries. The event will also showcase possible national and multilateral financing tools supporting investments - particularly on risk mitigation, blended finance, and project preparation. It concludes with a corporate segment on “mine‑to‑market” integration, with presentation on Italian and African best practices.
