Alison leads the Projects & Development function which drives the Anglo American’s growth agenda. With over 30 years of executive and non-executive leadership experience, she has a proven track record of managing complex organisations, delivering mega-scale infrastructure programmes, and fostering innovation in highly regulated environments. She is at the forefront of re-imagining mining through the FutureSmart Mining™ programme, advancing innovation to disrupt the industry and beyond. Her leadership is central to Anglo American’s journey toward carbon neutrality, including initiatives such as the Regional Renewable Energy Ecosystem in partnership with Envusa Energy and EDF. Under her guidance, the Projects & Development function extends the life of mine assets, responsibly delivers greenfield multibillion-dollar projects, and ensures operational excellence across Anglo American’s extensive annual capital programme. A Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Alison is a champion for diversity in science and engineering. In 2019, she was recognised by the Financial Times and Inclusive Boards as one of the top ten most Influential Female Engineers in the UK and Europe. She also serves as a Non-Executive Director of Kier Group plc, where she chairs the Safety, Health and Environment Committee.
