Glen Mc Gavigan is a seasoned mining and geoscience executive with over 27 years of leadership experience across the mining value chain in Southern Africa. He has a strong track record in exploration, geoscience, mine engineering, technology deployment and large-scale capital project delivery, underpinned by a deep commitment to safety, integrity and scientific rigour. Glen has served as Chief Executive Officer of Rosond since January 2025. Rosond is South Africa’s largest exploration and geological drilling company, operating more than 120 surface and underground drilling rigs nationwide. The company has invested in 32 next-generation diamond and percussion rigs featuring tele-remote cabins, automated rod handling and advanced telemetry systems, positioning Rosond at the forefront of drilling safety, productivity and digital integration. Prior to joining Rosond, Glen held senior executive and technical leadership roles at Anglo American Kumba Iron Ore, including Executive Head of Technical and Projects. His responsibilities spanned exploration, mining, processing, engineering, asset management, technology strategy and major growth projects. His career includes leading life-extension initiatives, advancing autonomous and digital mining technologies, and managing complex technical functions at scale. Glen holds a Master of Engineering (Mining), a Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, a Chamber of Mines Rock Engineering Certificate, and is a registered Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat).
