Grant Beringer
Group Sustainability Executive Barrick Mining Corporation
Grant Beringer is Barrick’s Group Sustainability Executive, responsible for delivering the company’s sustainability strategy across its global operations and project pipeline. He has held the role since the merger of Barrick and Randgold in January 2019. Beringer holds an MSc in Environmental Management and brings more than 20 years’ experience in the environmental and social consulting industry, including extensive involvement in environmental and social impact assessments in the resources sector globally. At Barrick, he helps embed sustainability into the core business strategy—driving responsible mining performance, transparent disclosure, and practical outcomes for host countries and communities. He has emphasized Barrick’s progress toward conformance with leading international best-practice frameworks, including the ICMM Performance Expectations, the World Gold Council’s Responsible Gold Mining Principles, and the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management. His portfolio also includes priority initiatives such as reducing supplier-related (Scope 3) emissions, strengthening biodiversity measurement, and advancing environmental and social studies on major projects like Reko Diq.
