Journalist Beyond the Noise 

Hannane Ferdjani is a journalist, documentary filmmaker, and moderator specialising in African geopolitics, political economy, and the Sahel region. She is the founder of Beyond the Noise Africa, a digital newsroom and research-led media platform dedicated to unpacking African and global issues through context, history, and lived experience. Hannane’s work sits at the intersection of journalism, long-form documentary, and field-based research, with a particular focus on resource governance, culture, and identity in the Sahel. She has reported extensively across West and central Africa and has previously worked with international outlets including France 24, Africanews, and Al Jazeera. A Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, she is known for her ability to translate complex political and economic dynamics into accessible, culturally grounded narratives, both on screen and on stage.
