Hon. Anthony P. Mavunde

Minister of Minerals United Republic of Tanzania

Hon. Anthony Peter Mavunde, a Member of Parliament for Dodoma Urban Constituency since 2015, is the Minister for Minerals of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Hon. Mavunde is a Professional Lawyer who holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Dodoma (UDOM), Post graduate Diploma in Legal Practical training (Law School) from University of Dar es Salaam and Bachelor degree of Law from Mzumbe University in the United Republic of Tanzania. He previously worked as the Chief Executive Officer in Federation of Miners Association of Tanzania (FEMATA) from 2013 to 2015.

He then worked as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of States, Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Policy, Parliamentary affairs, Coordination, Labour, Employment, Youth and the Disabled. He also worked as the Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture.

He has extensive experience in leadership, with an in depth understanding and passionate for youth development. He is well known of his excellency and innovation that contributed to the establishment of Kizimba Model and Block farming for youth engagement in Agricultural Sector in Tanzania.
