Ian Gebbie

SVP: Electrical, Control & Instrumentation DRA Global

Ian Gebbie has 33 years’ experience working in the Mining and Metals industry. He completed a M.Sc. in control in 1993, looking at applications of AI in the metals processing industry. He started his career in the gold mining industry but soon moved into the project space for various consulting firms. Ian is currently the Senior Vice President for Electrical Engineering for DRA, including DRA’s Energy group focusing on energy and grid solutions, that he formed in 2018. The Energy group focuses on energy solutions in the mining industry had has seen the transformation of the industry as battery systems become more viable at the power levels required to provide benefit to mine type loads.
