Head of Content & Strategic Partnerships Investing in African Mining Indaba

Laura Nicholson is a seasoned mining content creation professional with 20-years of experience in the mining and industrial sectors. She has held various leadership roles, demonstrating her expertise in project management, strategic planning, and team leadership in the formation of content that delivers value to mining stakeholders across the value chain. Currently, Laura serves as the Head of Content and Strategic Partnerships at Hyve Group’s Investing in African Mining Indaba, where she creates content for between 8 and 10 different agendas, while overseeing and building relationships with key mining stakeholders – all of which contribute significantly to the event’s growth and success. Laura holds a BA Hons Degree in Journalism from Rand Afrikaans University (now University of Johannesburg). 
Laura’s most recent successes include onboarding a variety of automotive and consumer technology companies into Mining Indaba and are looking to expand this initiative further with new stakeholder groups in 2025, including mining community and indigenous group representatives as well as mining-focused PhD students.  
Her strategic vision for Mining Indaba is to create a more inclusive platform that represents all aspects of the mining industry, ensuring a comprehensive and collaborative approach to industry growth and development.
