Matimba is the Chief Executive Officer of JA Engineering Works (Pty) Ltd, bringing over two decades of extensive experience to the role. His career is marked by a remarkable versatility, having contributed to key sectors including Mining (Anglo), Chemicals (Sasol Synfuels), Automotive (BMW), and Mining OEMs (Joy Global & Barloworld). His scale of expertise and leadership earned him a seat on the board of MEMSA in 2024 and Chairman in 2025.  He is also a Member of the Manufacturing Cluster with CSIR chaired by Prof Knoetzen from UCT. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Natal-Durban, and has further honed his leadership skills with a Program in Business Leadership and a Master’s in Business Leadership (MBL) from Unisa Business School of Leadership, South Africa. Matimba’s passion lies in fostering manufacturing excellence and driving industrialization within the Southern Africa region. His visionary leadership and commitment to innovation have been instrumental in positioning JA Engineering as a leader in the industry. His dedication to advancing the sector led him to join MEMSA, where he continues to champion the growth and development of the mining equipment manufacturing industry.
