Tim Williams is the Vice President of Geosciences at Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. A Canadian mining company focused on copper, platinum group metals (PGMs), zinc, and other strategic mineral deposits. Ivanhoe Mines operates major mining projects and exploration programs across Africa and other regions, playing a significant role in the discovery and development of critical minerals essential to global industrial growth and the energy transition.
Role and Responsibilities: 
As Vice President of Geosciences, Tim Williams is responsible for:
• Leading and coordinating the company’s geological exploration activities, including mineral resource analysis and evaluation.
• Overseeing multidisciplinary teams involved in the discovery and development of mineral deposits.
• Supporting strategic exploration planning, ensuring that technical and geoscientific data are accurate and compliant with recognized reporting standards.
• Acting as a Qualified Person for the review and approval of scientific and technical information related to Ivanhoe Mines’ exploration projects, with a particular focus on the Western Forelands project.
Technical Expertise and Contributions:
• Leadership and management of geoscience teams in mineral exploration.
• Review and approval of technical reports and geological data in accordance with international standards.
• Active involvement in high-impact copper and critical minerals exploration projects supporting the global energy transition.
• Strong focus on integrating geoscientific innovation with community engagement and sustainable exploration practices.
