Vijay Nundlall

Board Member The Mine Health & Safety Council

Mr. Nundlall is representing the Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC), he is a member of the Minerals Council of South Africa and employed as a Vice President of Mine Technical Services at multinational mining company. His key attention has been on health and safety in the mining industry, including time spent at the regulator and in the mining industry, the focus on prevention of safety incidents and occupational disease has been through the development of policies and legislation, the sourcing and implementation of appropriate technologies and methods to detect, prevent and mitigate occupational health and safety risks. Through the MHSC, Minerals Council and Mining industry, he remains involved in research and development of new technologies and methodologies to assist with enhancing safety of employees, such as the investigation in the efficacy of body cooling garments in abnormally hot mining environments. He has 40 years’ experience in the local and international mining industry including the mining inspectorate, exploration and occupational health research. He has qualifications in Mining and Mechanical Engineering, Occupational health and an MBA.
