Nechan is the founder and CEO of the Megamillion group of companies. Megamillion has a strategic intent to “energize Africa for its own future.” It is championing the localization of the lithium-ion value-chain on African soil, including battery mineral extraction, cell manufacturing, electric vehicle manufacturing, to recycling and reuse.

Nechan serves on an AUDA-Nepad committee to advise African heads of state on next generation batteries. He was a speaker on the topics of Mineral Beneficiation in the context of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) at the 2019 Africa Industrialization Week at the AU headquarters. As a proponent of localization, Nechan was also a guest speaker at the 2020 Powering Africa Summit in Miami and a speaker at the 2023 BRICS Summit held in South Africa.

Nechan is a veteran of technological innovation with 30 years’ experience in the global electronics industry. He served on several Boards of SA technology companies and held senior advisory positions in global electronics bodies including Technical Committee Member of DesignCon USA, and as Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the South Africa Technology Station in Electronics.
