Mining and energy are undoubtedly linked. Mines are often both the biggest users of energy and simultaneously the enablers of large energy projects. In an era of uncertain energy landscape, it is imperative that African miners and energy producers work together to create an energy landscape that supplies the needs of both industry and greater economies. In 2026, Mining Indaba showed how successful mining/energy partnerships can be, now the focus must be on sustaining and scaling these collaborations, whilst looking into the future for new projects.
