Major & Mid-Tier Mining Company

A mining company is defined as a company whose primary business is exploring, seeking to develop, or actively mining natural resource deposits or fields, excluding oil and gas.

Please refer to the below for the major & mid-tier ticket criteria:

  • A major mining company has multiple producing mines of various resources across different continents. 
  • A mid-tier mining company has at least two producing mines, usually dealing with the same type of commodity in the same region or nearby regions on the same continent.

Exploration & Junior Mining Company

A mining company is defined as a company whose primary business is exploring, seeking to develop, or actively mining natural resource deposits or fields, excluding oil and gas.

Please refer to the below for the exploration & junior mining company ticket criteria:

  • An exploration company is engaged in prospecting and holds valid exploration permits. The company may have started surface exploration, scoping studies, and preliminary economic assessments (PEA), and progressed to pre-feasibility studies (PFS). Typically with a market cap of up to $20 million. 
  • A junior mining company focuses on a single mine, from the stage of conducting a definitive feasibility study to developing and operating the mine. The company may also possess other exploration assets.

Government tickets are reserved for those who are currently employed or appointed by a government/ governmental ministry or agency and can provide valid documentation confirming their employment at a government entity. Subject to review and approval.

Investor

Investor tickets are reserved solely for professional investors. This includes individuals whose primary function is to invest funds into mining companies and projects and who may be employed in private equity, commodity trading, investment/asset management, corporate/institutional banking, hedge fund, sovereign wealth fund, venture capital, and family office.

Private investors/HNWIs who can provide evidence of at least US$1 million in liquid financial assets will also benefit from complimentary passes, subject to their primary motivation for attending being investment purposes.

The application will be reviewed by the organisers and applicants will be notified of their status within 3 business days.

All applications must be received before 2 February 2025 for your application to be reviewed.

We reserve the right to refuse anyone access to this pass type at our sole discretion and further information may be requested to support your application.

Press and media tickets are served solely for members of the media who have been pre-accredited for a press ticket. Eligibility is determined by your valid press accreditation ID or providing samples of relevant work.

Group Registration

For your convenience, group bookings for General Delegates, Mining Companies and Government Delegates are available where you wish to pay for two or more passes. For Investors and Press, please use the specific ticket type selector above to register individually.

Please have the details of all delegates on hand before you begin your group booking, for government tickets a copy of the delegates government accreditation will be required. All delegates in your group must be of the same ticket type and please note any qualification rules based on the original ticket apply.

Yes we will be offering a range of translation services for non-English speakers at Mining Indaba.
Tea, coffee and water will available all day at the designated refreshment points within the main gallery and exhibition floor. Lunch will be provided for all delegates in the Lunch Hall in Hall 7, CTICC2 between 12:00 – 14:00 Monday to Thursday. Vegetarian and vegans will be catered for.  If you have any specific dietary requirements, please email us via [email protected].
Mining Indaba is being held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC 1 and 2) located on Convention Square, 1 Lower Long Street, 8001 Cape Town.  Car parking is available in CTICC car parks P1 and P5 for a daily fee. Taxis and Ubers can stop at the dedicated drop zone on Walter Sisulu Avenue. Badges can collected at CTICC 2. Directions to the venue can be found here.
Cloakroom – A cloakroom is available on the ground floor.  Please note luggage is not allowed at the event and should be left with your hotel concierge.  The organisers will not be held responsible for any items left in the cloakroom and you do so at your own risk.

Internet – Free Wi-Fi will be available for all delegates.  Log in instructions will be available on arrival.

ATMs – These are located on the ground floor of the CTICC.

Prayer Room – A designated prayer room is available within CTICC 2.

Collection instructions will be issued two weeks before the event if the pass has been fully paid.  At registration a government issued photo ID will be required to collect your badge. Without your badge, entry will be refused. For changes or substitutions please email [email protected]. Your delegate badge permits access to the event and any approved networking functions. No badge means no entry. All delegates will pass through airport style security on arrival at CTICC. This is also a firearm free event. Security concerns should be reported to the Venue Operations Centre located in room 2.35.
Crime, especially petty theft, can be prevalent in Cape Town. Delegates are encouraged to remain vigilant at all times and should get taxi’s across the city especially at night. South African Police can be contacted in an emergency on 10111.
