Ministry of Petroleum, Mines and Geology of Chad

The Ministry of Petroleum, Mines and Geology of Chad is a public ministerial department in charge of designing, coordinating the implementation and monitoring of the Government's policy on petroleum, mining and geology. In its structure, it has the Technical General Directorates which are in charge of exploration and mining. It also has sub-supervisory bodies, including the National Company for Mining and Control (SONEMIC), which is a first lever for the promotion of the mining sector. It is responsible for the Gold and Precious Metals Buying Counters and is in charge of the organization of artisanal and semi-mechanized exploitation of mineral resources.
