Mmadikeledi's journey in the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources began in 1998. Throughout her tenure, she has occupied various pivotal roles, including mineral laws administration, policy development, and environmental management. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Director-General responsible for Compliance and Enforcement. 
In this capacity, Mmadikeledi oversees the monitoring and enforcement of mining companies, ensuring their adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and committed terms and conditions of their contracts. Her extensive expertise has been instrumental in shaping the mining sector, and her contributions have left an indelible mark on the industry.
