Charles Ofori
Policy Lead ACEP
Charles Gyamfi Ofori serves as the Policy Lead for Climate Change and Energy Transition at the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), where he spearheads research and advocacy on critical energy transition issues. His portfolio encompasses the economics of energy transition, solar PV value chain development, clean cooking solutions, methane emission mitigation in Africa's oil and gas sector, and the strategic role of critical minerals in Africa's sustainable development.
Charles has also conducted research and policy analysis across the power sector and extractive industries. His work includes in-depth studies on natural gas demand and supply dynamics in Ghana, enhancing local participation in the oil and gas industry, local content development in Africa’s extractive sector, and advancing gender-responsive budgeting in mining-impacted communities.
He holds a Ph.D. in Finance with a focus on renewable energy investments from the University of Ghana Business School. He also has an MPhil in Operations Management, and a BSc in Statistics and Mathematics, from the University of Ghana.
