Driving sustainable investment in African Mining

Fatma Nyambura

Policy Manager EITI

Fatma is a Policy Manager at the Extractives Industry Transparency Initiative which is the global standard for good governance of the oil, gas and mining sector. She leads the International Secretariat’s work on beneficial ownership transparency and contract transparency. Her work entails supporting the Policy Director in the development, revisions and implementation of the EITI Standard and developing guidance material for practitioners.  

Prior to joining the EITI, Fatma worked in development consulting and was involved in the implementation of extractive industry and private sector programmes in East, West and Southern Africa. 

Fatma is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and Certified Public Secretary. She holds a Master’s degree in Mineral Law and Policy from the University of Dundee, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a Bachelor of Law from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
