Francisco Baudrand
VP & CEO Enaex Africa
Francisco Baudrand, a distinguished civil and industrial engineering graduate from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, further enhanced his education with an MBA from the same institution and an executive master’s from Harvard Business School. He began his career in the shipping industry with AGUNSA, progressing to key roles at CCNI and LAN Airlines, where he served as Strategic Planning Deputy Manager.
In his transition to Enaex, the third-largest explosives supplier to the global mining industry, Francisco played a critical role as Business Development Director, notably leading the joint venture with Sasol. This partnership resulted in the successful rebranding of a South African ammonia producer into Enaex Africa, redefining the region’s mining landscape with a human-centered approach to innovation.
Under his leadership, Enaex Africa commenced operations in July 2020, with Francisco appointed as CEO. His strategic vision and expertise significantly contributed to both Enaex Global and Enaex Africa, driving operational excellence and innovation. In recognition of his leadership and impact, Francisco was appointed Vice President of the Africa region in July 2023.
Francisco is driven by a profound commitment to making a positive impact: “My most important purpose is to impact and change the lives of others,” he emphasizes, reflecting his deep passion for humanizing the mining industry.
