Dr Jennifer HINTON is Group Manager, ESG for Jervois Global Ltd., an Australian-headquartered battery metals company with a strategic focus on cobalt and nickel. Prior to this, Dr HINTON spent almost two decades working with governments, miners, communities and companies in over 20 countries, mainly in the global south. Her expertise ranges from sustainable development in the minerals sector to improving the technical, economic, environmental, occupational safety, and social performance of small scale mines to gender dimensions of minerals policy and law. Clients have included the World Bank, USAID, Global Affairs Canada, GiZ, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a range of other governments, UN agencies, mining companies and organizations.  Dr HINTON holds a B.A.Sc. (Geol. Eng), M.A.Sc. (Mining and Mineral Process Eng.) and PhD (Mining Eng.) from the University of British Columbia.
