BEng (Metallurgy), MBA, Advanced Management Programme, Certified Director (IoDSA) Johan began his career in production management at Iscor - Pretoria Steel Works. Over the past 37 years, he has held various significant roles, including positions at KZN Sands and leading research and development at Kumba Resources. Johan was also a key member of the leadership team at Mineral Sands (Tronox) and served as the Business Unit Manager of Zincor. Most recently, he has contributed to Exxaro Resources in several corporate office roles, showcasing his extensive experience and dedication to the industry. In his current role as Chief Technology Officer and executive committee member, Johan is dedicated to driving the implementation of Exxaro’s growth strategy. He oversees the delivery of mega growth projects, capital investment reviews, mineral asset management, and technological advancements. Additionally, Johan is responsible for Information Management and Supply Chain Management across the group. He is passionate about leading people and Powering Better Lives.
