Dr. Marian Lydall
Head: R&D Management Mintek
Dr Marian Lydall heads the R&D Management function at Mintek, providing oversight of the RDI portfolio and strategic investment process. She holds a MA in Economic Geography (2002, cum laude), PhD in Mining Engineering (2005) and an MBA in Strategy and Innovation (cum laude, 2014), all from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Her prior experience includes 16 years as a mineral economist and industry analyst spanning the mining, manufacturing, power and logistics sectors in South Africa and the broader SADC region. Her research interests have focused on the optimisation of mineral-based linkage development and sectoral value chains to support national and regional development priorities.
