Driving sustainable investment in African Mining

Masego Maxwell Sabisa

Postgraduate student North West University

Masego Maxwell Sabisa is a motivated chemical engineer with an interest in sustainable energy and process optimization. A recent graduate from North West University, where he gained comprehensive knowledge in various areas such as thermodynamics, reaction engineering, materials science. Masego is in progress of obtaining his Masters in Chemical Engineering. During his academic journey, Masego was actively involved in academic projects, research, and extracurricular activities, including liberation and recovery of mineral ore when exposed to microwave energy, university outreach programs and university open days. During his academic journey he was able to hone his skills in process simulation, data analysis, and lab techniques, as well as in problem-solving and teamwork. Masego also completed an internship with Sibanye Stillwater, where he assisted in optimizing production processes, reducing waste, and conducting feasibility studies. This experience reinforced his interest in mineral processing and demonstrated his ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges. Outside of engineering, Masego enjoys exercising, travelling, and volunteering, which reflect his well-rounded personality. Eager to contribute to innovative solutions in the industry, Masego is looking forward to advancing sustainable practices.
