Matome Moremi is an accomplished mining professional with 15 years of experience in the industry. Holding a BSc Hons in Mining Engineering (Wits), a PgDip in General Management and, an MBA (Gibs), Matome combines technical expertise with strong leadership and business acumen. He currently serves as the General Manager at Thungela’s Zibulo Colliery, where he has played a key role in driving high productivity, operational efficiencies, and record-breaking team performances.
Previously, Matome worked at Anglo American Thermal Coal business, where he developed a solid foundation in mining operations and safety. He is known for his exceptional ability to lead teams to achieve outstanding results, with a strong track record in ensuring the highest safety standards are upheld. Matome is also a strong advocate for integrating technology and innovation, leveraging these tools to optimize operations, boost efficiencies, and inspire his teams to consistently perform at their best.
His leadership is defined by a focus on operational excellence, a commitment to safety, and a passion for continuous improvement.
