Mats Sköldberg
Head of Technology Volvo Construction Equipment
Mats Sköldberg is Head of Technology for Volvo Construction Equipment, leading the development and delivery of its global technology strategy and continuing the company’s journey into electromobility, connectivity and automation. Mats took on this role in 2023, moving to the company’s headquarters in Eskilstuna, Sweden, after six years as Head of Technology for Volvo CE in China, where he was responsible for the technical research and development for all products in the Chinese market. It was here that he established the Jinan Technology Center in Shandong Province, one of the company’s key innovation hubs. Since joining Volvo CE in 1990, he has participated in or led the research and development of 50 products sold all over the world. Mats has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering design from the University of Mälardalen. He is married with three adult sons and lives outside Eskilstuna, where he enjoys sports and reading.
