Master of Ceremonies Investing in African Mining Indaba

Mecktilder M M, Executive Director & founding member of the Tanzania Women and Youth in Mining and Mineral Industry (TWiMMI), empowers women and youth in the mineral value chain. TWiMMI has empowered 3,900 youth & women in the mineral Industry, from miners, value addition,mineral traders, service providers and mining professionals. She is a former small-scale miner, Mecktilder’s journey spans Tanzania & Mozambique. She is a Co-founder of WOOW ME JEWEL, transforming African gemstones into world-class jewelry, promoting local value addition in the continent, acting as a beacon for realization of AMV. She contributes to mineral value chain discussions in the Great Lakes region and authored a PanAfGeo-2 chapter on sustainable artisanal mining in the Eastern Africa region. Her work emphasizes ethical practices, value addition at the source and inclusivity in mining. She is part of Strategic Advisor on Investing Africa Mining Indaba Communities and Indigenous People Committee.
