Pierre Herben is a seasoned leader in Innovation with ca. 35 years of experience in Research, Innovation and business development in various industries. He held senior leadership innovation roles in Shell, Lyondell Basell- Industries and Yara. He led the development an Innovation roadmap for the European industry to transform to a carbon neutral and Zero waste industry in the Aspire PPP. He now leads the Carbon and innovation group at Anglo American. Specifically in South Africa, he developed the idea and concept of a partnership for a regional Renewable Energy ecosystem, leading to the launch of Envusa Energy, to accelerate transformation towards carbon neutral operations, but also enabling opportunities for a Just Energy Transition.
