Dr. Robert Pijpers works as a senior advisor for the European Partnerships for Responsible Minerals. He has more than 15 years of experience working on the social, economic, environmental and political dimensions of large and small-scale mining, especially in relation to development and supply chain challenges. He is the author of numerous academic articles and books, including ‘The Anthropology of Resource Extraction’ (2022) and ‘Mining and Development in Sierra Leone’ (2024).
