Sam Hosack is a proven senior mining executive with over 20 years plus experience in the global resources sector and possesses a demonstrated record of accomplishment in project advancement and shareholder value creation across mining assets located in Central America, Europe, Australia and Africa. Prior to joining Prospect, Sam held senior engineering and managerial roles at leading global miner, First Quantum Minerals. This included lead project management of major infrastructure for the Minera Panama Project, involving the construction of a copper and coal handling port facility, 128km transmission lines and a 300MW power station. Sam has been Managing Director of Prospect Resources since 2018. Key amongst his achievements in this role was stewarding the advancement, evaluation and subsequent sale of the Arcadia Lithium Project in Zimbabwe to Huayou Cobalt for approximately US$378 million cash in 2022. Sam led the acquisition of Prospect’s current flagship asset, the Mumbezhi Copper Project, in May 2024. Having previous operational experience in Zambia during his tenure at First Quantum, Sam holds key regional and in-country insights. He is excited and well placed to be leading Prospect towards its long-term goal of advancing Mumbezhi into Zambia’s next major copper mining operation.
