Sameera Mohamed was appointed as the Human Resources Director of Microsoft Africa in May 2023. She joined Microsoft in October 2008 and has held various positions over the years, including that of Human Resources Operations Consultant, People and Organisational Capability Consultant for the Middle East and Africa Region (MEA), Human Resources Manager for the commercial business in South Africa and Human Resources Director for Microsoft South Africa. Sameera has more than 15 years’ experience in the Human Resources field and, as the Human Resources Director for Microsoft South Africa, she works with the business heads to set the people priorities and drive the people agenda in terms of talent management, organisation and leadership effectiveness, culture and change management. She is a seasoned human resources professional with a solid understanding of the important role modern Human Resources plays in transformation and change. Through the various positions that Sameera has held, she has gained extensive knowledge and experience in building and driving a holistic people strategy spanning people development and engagement, culture, talent management and overall organisational development. This experience, combined with her deep industry knowledge, means she is well positioned to drive Microsoft’s people strategy and support the business in its mission to help people do and achieve more. Sameera has deep strategic thought leadership capability with a global perspective. Moreover, she is passionate about supporting and developing a diverse workforce and champions the Diversity and Inclusion initiative across the Middle East and Africa region.
