Executive Manager, Mining Cluster The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
Sibongile Ntsoelengoe has over 15 years’ experience in the mining industry with a special focus on iron ore and base metal commodities. She has held various roles in the mining industry which have given her in-depth knowledge and practical experience in the sector. She has gained extensive experience in the development of integrated digital innovation strategy roadmaps across the mining value chain. Sibongile has also held several leadership roles where she has led highly skilled, multidisciplinary teams in the development, successful deployment, and successful adoption of appropriate innovation solutions across mining operations. She is currently the Executive cluster manager for future production mining at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). In her current role she continues to provide thought leadership in building diverse capabilities required to identify niche opportunity areas in support of a safe and sustainable mining industry as well as strategically building the mining innovation ecosystem.
Sibongile holds a Master of Business Administration from GIBS, University of Pretoria, BSc (Eng) Honours (Metallurgical Engineering), University of Pretoria and a BSc (Eng) in Metallurgy and Material Engineering. She has also acquired an Advanced Management Programme Certificate, University of Navarra, IESE Business School.
