Suneeta Kaimal
President & CEO Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI)
Suneeta Kaimal is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI), an international, independent not-for-profit which supports informed, inclusive decision-making about natural resources and the energy transition. Ms. Kaimal served on the UN Secretary General’s Panel on Critical Energy Transition Minerals, drafting guidance and actionable recommendations to ensure justice and equity animates a new mining paradigm. Ms. Kaimal is Treasurer of The International Center for Not-For-Profit Law, working to improve the legal environment for civil society, philanthropy, and public participation around the world. She serves as an Envoy for and was the first female Co-Chair of the Open Government Partnership, an initiative of over 75 countries in which governments and civil society work together to advance transparency, accountability, and citizen participation. She was also the first chair of the Global Council of Publish What You Pay, a civil society movement of more than 1,000 organizations working to improve natural resource governance. She holds a master’s in international affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and a B.A. from Duke University, where she was a Hart Leadership Fellow.
